Paid Coach Opportunity - $500 Stipend

The Emergency Campaign to Support Higher Education is recruiting coaches nationwide to support Campus Leads running Schools Drop ICE campaigns - a growing student-staff movement to end university contracts with Flock Safety and other companies that enable ICE surveillance and enforcement on campus.

We’re looking for people with organizing or coaching experience who want to help campus leads build power, grow their teams, and win.

Applications are open now through August 12th.

What You’ll Do

  • Attend a 45-minute campaign orientation to learn about the Schools Drop ICE campaign and the SDI Coaching Program
  • Commit 2-3 hours per week, from Mid-August- Mid-December 2026: a weekly 1:1 with your assigned Campus Lead, plus prep, follow-up, and campaign support.
  • Use the Weekly Coach Check-in to track concrete progress - petition signatures, Organizing Committee growth, new leaders, etc - across the full campaign arc, from identifying a corporate target through the culminating action. These meetings are generally around 60 minutes.
  • Coach, don’t advise: ask hard questions, hold your Campus Lead accountable to their own commitments, and push them toward bolder action when they’d rather play it safe.
  • Help your Campus Lead plan how to bring in and retain new members and sustain pressure after a win.

Stipend

Coaches who complete the commitments above will receive a $500 stipend.

Join organizers across the country supporting the Schools Drop ICE campaign, a growing movement to stop and prevent Flock Safety from racially profiling, harassing, and detaining students on our campuses.

The role is about more than logistics, it’s about building the coaching relationship that turns intention into action and help campaigns win.

Not available this cycle?

If your schedule doesn’t allow for Fall Semester of 2026, but you’re interested in future coaching opportunities, we still encourage you to apply. We’ll keep your application on file and reach out when the next cohort of coaches is recruited.

About Us:

Schools Drop ICE (SDI) is a national student-labor coalition anchored by AAUP, HELU, Sunrise Movement, SILS and YSDA, organizing campus communities to cut the corporate supply chain that powers ICE’s deportation operations, working to end university contracts with Enterprise, Hilton, Flock Safety, and ICE charter carriers.

This fall, campuses nationwide are unified around one demand: get Flock Safety’s automated license-plate-reader (ALPR) cameras off campus. Flock logs every vehicle - plate, make, model, time, location - into a nationwide network of 5,000+ communities and 40,000+ cameras. ICE has no contract with Flock, but police have run thousands of searches on its behalf, logging reasons like “ICE” and “immigration” through what researchers call a side-door into the network. We are a growing movement to stop and prevent Flock from racially profiling, harassing, and detaining students on our campuses.
